The recipe I follow was recommended to me by Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina. It’s outlined below.
Mix and serve the following to each bird:
Fruit (3/4 cup)
1/2 apples
1/2 mixed soft fruit
cantalope, bananas, tomatoes, peaches, grapes, blueberries, papaya, etc.
Scenic Bird Food (3/4 cup)
2/3 Red Apple Jungle
1/3 Tropical Bits Vitamins (every other day):
Nekton MSA Science Diet Senior 7+ Small Bits, (dog food)
4 pieces
This recipe will provide your bird with a well balanced diet the bird will enjoy.
There’s one thing that makes this recipe especially healthy for your bird Scenic Bird Food’s Tropical Bits.
Tropical Bits is a tiny pellet the size of ice cream sprinkles. It clings to any moist fruit served with it. So, when your bird eats only its favorite fruit, you know that it’s also getting a “sprinkle” of the scientifically formulated low-iron diet prepared by Scenic Bird Food.
The “Riverbanks Recipe” has made my Collared aracari healthier, more colorful, and more productive than any others.
